Music that Inspires

Music that Inspires

Music that inspires is music of joy, strength and triumph (Ps. 118:14-15).  It is the music of our personal pilgrimage as we climb higher in Christ.  The songs of protection and deliverance (Ps. 32:7) that lift us out of our sorrows and sadness and contribute to or mental well-being (1 Sam. 16:14-17, 23) when we are tormented.  Music that inspires helps us overcome our trials and tribulations.  It helps us draw closer to God and causes us to trust in Him even more.  But most importantly, music that inspires is the music we use to worship and praise God.  Psalm 22:3 says that God inhabits the praises of His people.

Music Inspires Even in a Pandemic

Music that inspires me today is For Every Mountain. It reminds me to be thankful and grateful for all that God brings me through. The pandemic storm of 2020-2021 is something everyone is experiencing. And while some people like to say that we’re all in this together, the fact is we don’t all experience the same storm in the same way.  The same storm impacts each of us differently. Some people get hit hard by huge hailstones falling on their health, housing, jobs, finances, and the loss of loved ones.  Business owners get whipped about by winds of ever-changing regulations.  And then there are those who are just on the storm’s periphery experiencing only the moderate inconvenience of minor winds and rain.

It’s always hard to go through tough times and uncertainty.  And it ain’t always easy to lean on God instead of our own understanding.  But it is always, always, better to do so.  Even in a pandemic, music that inspires can help us remember what God has already brought us through, and we can find strength and hope to endure our present ordeal.  It’s not so much about the storm, as it is about how we endure it and what we learn through it.  Music that inspires soothes us emotionally and helps us get through. It makes its grateful for things we take for granted. It also raises our spirits to reach upwards to God to thank Him, praise Him, and acknowledge our dependence upon Him.

For Every Mountain and Trial

Have faith in God and believe that He is with you through every mountain, valley and trial.  And that He desires to bring you through it for your good and your growth.  Jeremiah 29:11 states that the Lord’s plans for us are to prosper us and not to harm us, but to give us a future and hope. He plans to do us good, not evil.  And trials are sometimes His method for achieving that.  But, in everything give thanks (1 Thess. 5:18) and praise the Lord.

For Every Mountain is a song that has helped me and inspired me to press on and put things into perspective during this time and in times past.  Here it is sung below by the Kurt Carr singers. I hope you will enjoy it and be inspired by it, too.
